Renault brought the Espace back in concept form at the Paris Motor Show, an electric minivan with a nearly all-glass cabin and seats that spin. If you're a family shopper tired of SUVs everywhere, Renault says it wants to offer "a real alternative to SUVs and saloons."

It's still only a concept. Electrek reported the reveal on Oct. 12, 2026, and Renault didn't say whether or when a production version will follow, describing it only as a modern take on family travel in the electric age.

A compact people mover with a lot of glass

The E-Space is 4,700 mm long, 2,020 mm wide and 1,670 mm tall. Electrek compares that with the Kia PV5 Passenger and the short-wheelbase VW ID. Buzz, so think midsize rather than big van. The roofline is low and smooth, with a spoiler that nods to the Espace 2 and 3.

The design draws on Bauhaus architecture and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Renault design chief Romain Gauvin says the low beltline means people outside can see in, and a driver can still rest an elbow on the door.

Seats that rotate and a game table

Double-hinged rear doors open to a flat floor and six individual seats in lacquered shells that appear to float. The second row can turn 180 degrees to face the third, which Renault likens to a TGV train square. Those riders also get tray tables and 12.3-inch headrest screens.

In the four-seat layout, the second row folds into a large table with a remote-control console, an air purifier, a small fridge and a Connect 4 game. Up front sits a wide curved display and a compact steer-by-wire wheel, meaning no mechanical link to the front wheels.

What Renault hasn't said

We found no battery size, range, price or timing in the material we read. Concepts often shed their wildest features before reaching showrooms, so read this as a design statement, not a spec sheet.
