Apple sent developers a third beta of iOS 27.2 on Monday. If you speak French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese or Spanish, this is the update that brings Apple's new Siri to your language, and Apple has promised it this month.
This beta is mostly polish. There's a refreshed Apple Music logo, new welcome screens in the Fitness and TV apps, and a battery icon in Settings that now matches the new status bar. Tester Aaron Perris also found code suggesting that smart home gear near you could one day show its controls in the Dynamic Island. For now that's only a line of code. You can't use it yet.
In early coverage, the big feature was a rebuilt Health app with a "Health Age" score. Don't expect it in this update. 9to5Mac thinks Apple will hold it for a later release this year. Tech Between the Lines says Apple's developer notes call the app a test that won't be in the finished release. We couldn't open those notes ourselves, so treat that as likely, not confirmed. Apple itself says only that the app is coming later this year and will need an iPhone that runs Apple Intelligence, which means an iPhone 15 Pro or newer.
Siri is what sets the deadline
Siri is a different story. Apple launched the new assistant in English only on September 14 and said French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish were "coming in October". That makes this update the first time it works in a language other than English, as 9to5Mac notes, and it means the update has to ship before November.
The schedule is tight. Apple shipped the first iOS 27.2 beta on September 16, two days after iOS 27 came out. It never released a beta of iOS 27.1, the update that's supposed to come out first, and we couldn't find one since. MacRumors thinks that's because iPhone Duo launches on October 23 with iOS 27.1, and Apple wants to keep the phone's features under wraps until then. If MacRumors is right, Apple has roughly a week after the Duo launch to keep its Siri promise.
What to watch: a release candidate, the near-final build, landing right after the Duo launch. Mark October 23. If iOS 27.1 ships with the Duo that day and no iOS 27.2 release candidate follows within a few days, Apple's October date for Siri in five new languages starts to look shaky.
